Adding new users to the FlowX

Adding new users to the FlowX

Security Files

In Flow-Xpress users and passwords can be modified and added both in online mode (directly in the flow computer, also for multiple flow computers at once) and offline mode (in the loaded application file). Each user has a specific security level. The security level determines what the user can and can’t do with the flow computer. Each parameter has a specific security level. Only users with at least the required level will be able to change the parameter, users with a lower security level will not. Furthermore there are number of overall settings for which the security level can be set as shown in the following screen shot.

To save a security file simply click on the disk icon and select the name would like to give the file and the location to save it.

To write a security file to multiple modules at the same time, open Flow-Xpress and in the upper right corner of the window select Online Mode.

Click on the Connect to device Icon in the upper left corner.

Using the Connect to Device interface, hold down the Shift key and select the modules you would like to write the master file to.

Flow-Xpress will now connect to all selected modules and read their security files. It will display common users to all modules and unique users in individual modules. To write the master security file click on the open folder Icon and navigate to the folder that contains your master file

The bottom of the screen will now display all the user to be written to all modules. In the center of the screen, click on Write All Changes to Device.

You will prompted for your username and password to write the changes to the devices.

Note: The username and password you enter must have a security level high enough on all devices to allow new users to be written. This may be different on each module depending on how you have configured them.
